We are not newcomers to the Portuguese business community. Abacus has been an active part of its professional landscape since the mid-1980s, long before it became the internationally recognised destination it is today. This long-standing presence has allowed us to build enduring relationships with lawyers, notaries, agents and institutions across the country, as well as a clear understanding of how business is conducted and what clients require when establishing themselves here.

Anne Darlington has been instrumental in establishing and developing Abacus’ presence in the Algarve since 1995. Over that time, she has built longstanding, highly valued relationships with a broad network of local and international professionals throughout Portugal.
Clients value her extensive understanding of local and legal requirements and the chance to visit the office for meetings, deliver documentation, or simply speak face-to-face with someone who truly knows Portugal. Anne works closely with the wider Abacus team to ensure a consistently high level of service to clients and professional partners across Portugal.
